I’ve heard a definition of “luck” as the place where preparation and opportunity meet. I’ve always loved that. Photographing marine mammals isn’t my everyday but having a camera in my hand is. I feel pure joy when I look at this image and remember this day. It’s forever engrained in my memory. I am thankful for the friends I shared it with in that moment. Thanks, Captain Russell!
